The MoU signing
Saudi Arabia and Greece signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on energy field. It was signed by Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, and Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias.
The MoU defines a framework for cooperation on renewable energy, power connectivity, export of electricity to Greece and Europe, transfer of clean hydrogen to Europe, energy efficiency, as well as the oil, gas and petrochemicals industries.
The preliminary agreement adopts the circular carbon approach to limit climate change impacts.
It also covers strengthening digital transformation and innovation in energy fields, including cybersecurity and developing quality partnerships between the two countries.
The MoU also enhances joint research efforts in the energy field, organizing workshops and multilateral conferences.
It was signed during the Saudi Crown Prince’s official visit to Greece.
